This is a short message to thank you and all the other volunteers who helped make our walk yesterday so enjoyable. Four of us came across from the Wigan area to do the 21 mile route for the first time. None of us have previously done much walking in the area so really enjoyed visiting new places on the lovely and varied route. I know how much work goes into organising such an event but all the effort is very much appreciated.

Thanks again to you and your team,

Graham Unwin

Hi Brian, once again thanks to all that helped, marshalled, stood at checkpoints, made food and served tea, is well worth the drive up to run a great route with lovely people and for a good cause too. Not going to lie, it’s a tough course ,and I did swear quietly in places, but the views and waterfalls are so worth the pain ! Hope to see you soon, Regards and Thank you, Ady Pendred

I would just like to say a great big thank you for running this race, I know you are a volunteer, and it’s people like that support great charities and do great work.

This is the first challenge event that I have ever done in my life, could I please ask you how many of the 17 mile people were walkers and how many were runners

Once again a great big thank,

Regards,

Robert.

Thank you for sending this out and for arranging such a fantastic challenge event. The last loop between Denholme and Harden was absolutely delightful, especially after the steeper ups and downs on the moors.

Apologies for any concern you may have had that I had gone AWOL – I definitely registered my arrival at all the checkpoints so not quite sure what went awry. Needless to say, I only picked up your voice messages after I’d got back to the Mechanics.

Congratulations on raising £1,500 for the Mpika charity and, last but not least, a big thank you to all the fantastic volunteers for their warm welcomes at the Start, Finish and all checkpoints in between.

All the very best

Pete.

Brian, thank you and the other check point volunteers for a superb event, really enjoyed it and will be back next year

Best wishes

David and Jane Giles

Thanks to you and all the volunteers for a cracking day out! Carl Hargreaves and I (52 and 53) switched to the 21 mile route from the 27 as his knee decided it didn’t like him any more.

Thanks,

Harriet

Just wanted to say thanks. It was a brilliant event and I really enjoyed myself, thanks so much.

Thanks for a great day out on Saturday. Do you publish the results anywhere?

Thanks again,

Gareth

Great 3vent today and a huge thanks to you and the rest of the team. I donated and took a couple of the badges but have lost one! Would it be possible to donate and ask if its possible to have another one? I thought they were lovely qnd very unique.

Kind regards

Lisa Miles

Thanks for a brilliant day and well organised and support run. We will be back next year for sure and hopefully this time I will manage to keep my ankle intact.

Many thanks again  and well done for the money raised too which is fantastic.

Regards

Jinx Hundal

Fabulous run as ever, I’m still buzzing from it. Just wondering if you had the links to the photos yet?

Cheers Ruth

Just a quick thank you to the organisers.  It was my first ‘doddle and I thoroughly enjoyed it.  Well-organised and a great route – I’ll definitely be back next year.

Firstly, a personal thank you for organising a great event. I know a lot of planning and time goes into this.

Secondly, everyone involved on the day from people manning checkpoints and the ladies feeding us when we got back were lovely and very supportive.

With regards to race positions, Myself (48) Sarah Earl(49) & Sarah Butcher(89) although we entered the 17 mile race ended up doing the 21 mile race instead. So if the results could be amended accordingly that would be great.

Thanks again,

Julie Hyne

Just a quick message to thank you for yesterday…such a lovely event

Tiffany

Great day out yesterday. Thanks to your team

Where will I be able to see results please

Denholme Doddle Challenge yesterday – what a fantastic day out running 23 miles in beautiful Bronte country. Highly recommend this event for next year (if Brian Newham organises it again?) Very friendly, great regular checkpoints, good route information & lots of food. What more could you ask for

I second all Melanie has said. Fantastic event, thanks for making us all feel so welcome. The tuna bake was amazing!

Thank you so much for a lovely event yesterday. The food, support and marshals were absolutely great. Each check point had well thought out kinds of delicious food and plentiful water not to mention the lovely smiling marshals too. The post race hot meal was an added bonus I wasn’t expecting but very welcome, and also the pre race free tea, coffee and biscuits.

I have accidently brought my race number home (number 65). Would you like me to post it back to you? If so, please send me your address and I will gladly return it.
Thank you once again,
Deborah Fisher
Hi Brian, just wanted to say a big thanks to all involved today, the checkpoints and all the helpers at base were supportive and friendly, the route was epic and the Rogan josh curry after was awesome! Hope all went well for you, Regards Ady Pendred

I had a great time and I know all the other Goyt Valley Striders enjoyed themselves too. So thanks for organising this wonderful event!  And thank you to all your helpers at the checkpoints and in the kitchen.

Best wishes,
Rebecca Glen

Thanks for this and apologies for not emailing earlier. I wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU  to you. Please extend my thanks and gratitude to the volunteer Marshals, Base and Back Room team.
It was a great even that I thoroughly enjoyed and will be putting it in my diary  for next year.
From the well marshalled check pints to the welcome recovery curry a great day out…!!!
I will be recommending it to all my walking and running (or jogging like me..!! ) buddies.

You have created a real cracker of an event Brian.  I have never seen such a variety of landscapes and views…
Thanks again for all the uncounted hours you and the team put into getting this together and look forward to seeing you next time.
Kind regards
Paul
